The Plymouth and District League will be happening in 2021. The first matches will be in the week of Monday 10th May. This year we are entering a Ladies Team. If any lady members want to get involved then let Jess know. If anyone reading this would like to both join the club and play, for either mens or ladies teams, then please do get in touch. It is very likely we can get you some games.

Oh, and happy new year !
Reopening on December 2nd
The LTA have updated their guidelines and we are able to play. Organised group activity is permitted so club sessions can resume. See you Wednesday afternoon ! Outside of club sessions, our interpretation of the rule of six means that, for social play, our two courts can host a doubles match and a singles match. Please will singles matches book court two in preference.
Given that it is winter we will allow use of the club house. Please sign in for each session. Whilst in the club house please wear a mask, maintain social distance and use hand sanitiser on entry.
The LTA have produced a grid for tiers 1, 2 and 3. The image below shows the tier 2 section.

Rule of Six as of September 10th
The LTA guidelines permit organised activities for larger groups including coaching and club sessions. Given that, the club schedule is unchanged. Also the club tournament continues.
However ad-hoc social play is limited to groups of six. It is not immediately obvious, when looking at the booking sheet, whether a court is booked by a singles pair or a doubles foursome. We must avoid the situation where both courts are playing doubles at the same time. Hence, whilst this rule applies, singles are asked to book court two in preference. If both courts are free book, court two. Then a doubles group knows that they can have court 1. Likewise doubles groups are asked not to book court 2 at any time.
Rusty Rackets 2020
This will run each Tuesday for the summer. It is for beginners or people who haven’t played for a while. So if you fancy starting or improving your tennis, just turn up. Bring a racket. Balls provided. £3.00 per session. Starts at 6pm but it is not essential to get there at the start. Finishing about 8pm.
Notice that it is always sunny at this years Rusty sessions, so much so that this photographer could not avoid having his shadow in the shot.
Stop press. GMT. The world turns and, sadly, summer doesn’t last for ever. Expect an afternoon start during the dark autumn and winter period, currently 4pm.
