Below is some background on how we got to this stage. It is incomplete. I’ll attempt to fill in the details next time I can copy stuff from the club notice board.

Max Points for Mens B

Our first win for the Mens B team and its a maximum. Plymstock 72 vs Tavistock F 23

Here is the scorecard

Great fun again and really friendly opponents. A lot closer than the scores suggest.

Brian Morgan

Good tennis. Hard fought win. Well played all.

Tim Randell

Winning on grass

Monday 3rd June. Cheeful team captain Dave writes…

4 out of 4 for Mens A! A 68-14 win over Saltash A this evening, played on the delightful grass courts, where every bounce is a mini adventure. An excellent turnout of spectators, including our very own Mark Skerton (minus his pom poms) who is in recovery. The next two home matches will be pivotal, onwards.

Here is the score card ..

..and here is the team line up. I wonder where the opposition were ?

James is thrilled to be the tallest.

Club Tournament 2024 is open for Entries

In the clubhouse the notice board now has a Sign up sheet and the new rules and regulations for 2024. It explains the new format and James strongly advises that you read up on it to make sure you are familiar with it.

Please make sure that you are available across the dates before entering.

Entries will be closed on the 8th June 2024.

Mens A travel to Ivybridge

Another win for Mens A away at Ivybridge. Steve and Daves plentiful practice all week at “boot camp Tim” payed off. James and Jamie played well. Jamie picked up a calf injury in the second match forcing a championship tie break. Jamies Oscar performance clearly distracting the opposition and they took it 10-6.

Third set tie break, JJ playing on one leg.

Score : Ivybridge 20 : Plymstock 68

Ladies win, just, at Saltash

A close one at Salthash – Plymstock 46, Saltash 41.

There was some nervousness about playing on grass – especially after struggling last year – but this year the match took place on their hard courts, which suits us better. Apparently the grass court lines have been washed away by all the recent rain.
